In this lesson students will learn about the plastic pollution in the sea, how it’s affecting animals (like sea turtles or sea birds), and, consequentially, all life on earth. Through lesson activities they will critically think about the pollution consequences and all possible actions they could do to prevent further pollution.
At the end of the lesson, students will create an interactive fictional story about the life of a sea turtle or a bird, including everything they learn in the story. This will make an impact on their peers through a peer assessment, but also broader community (other students, teachers, families) by publishing students’ stories on a school website.
The main goal of this lesson plan is to raise awareness about this topic and to influence the students’ mindset for achieving one of the SDGs – 6. Clean water and sanitation.
